ThickBox is Cody Lindley’s take on LightBox which is a technique for using JavaScript to overlay images on the current page. ThickBox takes it further by letting you overlay HTML pages as well.

I was pretty excited to see QOOP launch a printing service integrated with Flickr. Even though single prints aren’t in the cards, the photobooks looked like a nice alternative. Turns out they’re not so nice.

The search engine A9 has an intriguing Yellow Pages gimmick called “Block View” whereby they show you an honest-to-god digital photo of meatspace businesses listed therein. Yesterday, A9 announced the addition of five new cities included in the Block View program: Washington, D.C.; Phoenix; Miami; Houston; and (drum roll please) Fargo, N.D.

I’ve become fascinated with the incidental moments captured in the A9 Yellow Pages. A9 is Amazon’s search engine, and they sent out teams to travel the streets of ten major US cities photographing as many store fronts as they could.
