I took one of these to college with me in 1987. It didn’t have a hard disk. It used floppy floppies. I had an Epson dot matrix printer to go with it. It was basically a fancy typewriter.

I wonder what happened to my old 2c?

i took one of these to college with me as well in ‘87. i remember that it was $1000 at the time of purchase (sometime in ‘85 or ‘86, iirc). i went with the amber screen.

i bought a mac+ for my 2nd year of college. also $1000 or so with the ed. discount. tetris was all the rage on it. and super load dotmatrix printers.

those were the days.

Oh man, how I envied you Mac Plus kids. I had to go to the computer cluster to get my Tetris fix. By ‘89-’90 there was a campus chat network, the name of which I can remember, but you needed a Mac to logon. I spent hours at my friend’s Mac chatting anonymously with other losers. Good times.

Yeah, having your own Mac Plus had its advantages, especially since I had a Single that year. But those didn’t hold a candle to those rich kids with the Mac SE. A 20MB hard drive! Oh to have that kind of headroom these days.

Ah, the early version of Instant Messaging. I remember that well. We got that in all of our dorm rooms by my 4th year. So great (and very dorky)! Of course, by the middle of my 4th year, I had moved on to the Amiga 500. Still no hard drive.
