Giant squid

It’s official: giant squid are taking over the world. Scientists have determined that squid have overtaken humans in terms of total bio-mass, and it’s partially man’s disregard for nature and the environement that is helping the squid to take over. It would seem that squid flourish in the over-fished ocean waters because there is less competition for food. They also seem to grow larger and more quickly in warmer water, an effect of global warming brought about by increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Dr George Jackson from the Institute of Antarctic and Southern Ocean studies in Tasmania said squid thrived during environmental disasters such as global warming.

The animals ate anything that came their way, bred whenever possible and kept growing.

Great. So it’s to be cockroaches and squid then? Somehow I knew we humans just wouldn’t cut the mustard.
